What is coinsurance?
Coinsurance is the percentage of a covered health care service that you pay after you've met your deductible. You and the county each pay a share of the costs, with the total adding up to 100%. The percentage you pay is called your coinsurance. For example, if your coinsurance is 20%, you pay 20% of the allowed amount for a service, and the county pays the rest.
