    About Employee Benefits

    What Employee Benefits Offers Employees...

    Insurance Plans

The County of Summit offers a comprehensive benefit package to its eligible employees and their dependents.  These benefit offerings include Medical, Prescription, Dental and Vision coverages, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program and Wellness programs and are administered by the Department of Human Resources, Division of Employee Benefits.  To obtain information about continuing coverage through COBRA - contact Kym Komaschka, (330) 643-2621kkomaschka@summitoh.net.

    First Stop Health

Your telemedicine benefit is provided through County of Summit. The next time you don't feel well, experience a minor injury or illness, or are traveling and run out of a prescription, call (888) 691-7867 to talk to a doctor or log into www.fshealth.com.

    Voluntary & Supplemental Benefits

Voluntary benefits, sometimes called supplemental insurance or employee-paid benefits, are offered by the employer through the workplace where employees can choose to buy them in addition to the core employee benefits they may get as part of a benefits package.  Voluntary benefits may be used for things other insurance may not cover, out-of-pocket expenses and household bills.

    Deferred Compensation

The County Commissioners' Association of Ohio, Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program and Equitable, offer 457 Deferred Compensation plans to county employees. These programs give employees the opportunity to defer current income, contributing on a pre-tax basis, as a means to supplement future retirement income. Monies in a deferred compensation plan are generally not available unless the employee retires, terminates employment or changes jobs.
