Health & Wellness Rules & Safety Guidelines
Access
The County of Summit Fitness Facilities are to be used by Summit County employees only. The facilities are accessed by County issued ID’s or keypad code. Employees must have an approved and signed waiver form. Family members and friends are not permitted to use the fitness facilities.
Employees are allowed to use the facilities during their scheduled breaks. The facility cannot be used during scheduled classes or special events. Please be mindful of others allowing 30-minutes use of the cardio machines, strength training equipment, and the virtual workout platform.
Hours of Operation
The County of Summit Fitness Facility hours may differ per location. Visit the website or contact the Wellness Team.
Attire
Please keep in mind that this is a professional work environment. Shirts, sport tops (no bare midriffs), athletic pants or shorts (of appropriate length) and athletic shoes with non-marking soles are required in the Fitness Facilities. The shoes should be dry and not muddy. No open-toed and open back shoes, boots, sandals, or casual shoes allowed.
Cell Phones
Use of cell phones for the purpose of taking pictures or videos during use of the Fitness Facility is expressly prohibited unless the permission of the subject of any photography is first obtained.
Media
Photographs and videos are prohibited unless taken by the Division of Employee Benefits and Wellness Team for use in marketing materials.
Etiquette
Conduct or language that is improper, threatening, or hazardous; including, but not limited to arguing, fighting, use of profanity, indecent behavior or horseplay will not be tolerated. Please use the equipment wipes provided to clean all equipment after each use, including, but not limited to mats. If an organized fitness class or event is in session, employees will not be permitted to use the Fitness Facilities.
Equipment
Dumbbells, kettlebells, mats, and other provided equipment are to be returned to their proper storage areas and may not be removed from the facilities. Equipment should not be dropped or thrown on the floor. The County of Summit is not responsible for any lost or stolen personal items.
Food and Beverages
No food or beverages (except water or sports drink) are allowed in the Fitness Facilities. Plastic water bottles or non-breakable containers ONLY. Glass bottles are prohibited in the Fitness Facilities.
Violation of Rules
Failure to abide or refusal by any user to comply with these rules may result in the loss of such user’s Fitness Facilities privileges.
Modifications
The County of Summit reserves the right to modify these rules at any time to promote a safe, orderly and enjoyable use of the Fitness Facilities.
Release
Prior to any use of the Fitness Facilities new employees must complete the Human Resources on-boarding process which includes the Health & Wellness Programs Agreement, Release, and Waiver and current employees must complete the self-enrollment process on the benefit system, acknowledging they have read and understand the agreement, release, and waiver. Once completed, please contact the Wellness Team to receive door access to the fitness facilities.
